Where money usually leaks
- Tyres and spares are bought by different depots from different dealers at different prices.
- Some vehicles cost far more to keep on the road than others, but repair bills are filed by date, not by vehicle.
- Freight, loading and unloading charges vary job to job with no record of what you usually pay.
Tyre price up 9.5% from the same dealer
- Item
- 295/80 R22.5 tyre
- Previous
- ₹26,400 each
- This bill
- ₹28,900 each × 6
₹15,000 more on this bill than at the previous rate
How you look into it
- 1Open the tyre's price history across every depot and dealer you've bought from.
- 2See each vehicle's spend: fuel, tyres, spares and repairs you've recorded against it.
- 3Take the earlier rate back to the dealer, or compare it with another supplier's quote.
